I discussed my doctoral thesis at the College of Fine Arts, University of Basra. The constant and shifting dialectic in the contemporary Iraqi formation, the artists of the diaspora are a model. The thesis submitted by researcher Ala Ali Ahmed included four chapters. The first concerned the methodological framework of the research, and it contained the research problem in which the debate was shed light and the constants and transformations that affected art throughout the ages. As for the second chapter, it dealt with a study of the structure of the contemporary Iraqi formation, down to the indicators that resulted from the theoretical framework. As for the third chapter, which deals with the research procedures, the researcher included in it the research community of 221 models. The sample of the research, totaling 20, was chosen intentionally, and the researcher analyzed it according to the descriptive analytical approach. And the fourth chapter concerned the most important findings, conclusions, proposals and recommendations. Most of the works of the diaspora artists now carry a humanitarian message, and raise societal issues bearing many conceptual connotations that took the artist out of the limits of his ornamental and aesthetic function, and assumed crucial tasks upon him by taking advantage of his conductive function. The thesis recommended ... that Iraqi artists in the diaspora should be interested in digital technologies and technological developments, so that art would be a result of the cultural-scientific overlap.
