
Under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, President of the University of Basra, the College of Dentistry Council was held and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Fateh Abdel-Sahib Al-Khaqani, Dean of the College, the Scientific Assistant, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Taha Yassin, the Administrative Assistant, Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Taha Yassin, and all heads of scientific branches, the College Council was held, which began with a welcome speech. The Dean of the College then discussed the topics of the session, including the emphasis on verifying the data of students applying to the college for primary and postgraduate studies and overcoming obstacles, following up on the infrastructure of the dental educational clinics as well as the college building in Al-Baradiyah, discussing the completion rates for the consulting clinics in the Bab Al-Zubair complex, and holding ongoing meetings to maintain the building. Infrastructure for the College of Dentistry and Al-Sadr Teaching Hospital, under the supervision of the Director of the Hospital, Assistant Professor Rafid Adel Abboud. And following up on the work of the examination committees (central and subsidiary) in the college to complete the mid-year grades for the current academic year and following up on the scientific activities of the scientific branches in accordance with the annual plan for this year, and initiating the preparation of the annual plan for next year. Urging teaching staff to publish scientifically to raise the university’s ranking in international classifications, in accordance with the directives of the Ministry and the University Presidency, following up on the work of divisions and college units by the assistants in the college and coordinating among them in order to achieve efficiency in performance and effectiveness in work, and emphasizing the follow-up of the permanent committees’ work and submitting a report showing the percentage Achievement, and explaining work obstacles to overcome them.
The President of the University of Basra also had a number of directives related to the work in the college in general, as he directed that the work be continuous to serve the college primarily, which requires more effort and will, as well as the need to pay attention to all the details in order to avoid any consequences that may occur in the future. Then, the topics included in the session’s agenda were discussed.
