Research is a scientific study at the Marine Sciences Center at the University of Basrah, prepared by the Scientific researchers, Prof. Dr. Majid Banai, from the Department of Marine Vertebrates, in cooperation with researchers from the Department of Natural Sciences, University of Texas, and a researcher at the Natural History Museum, United States of America.
The study, which was published in an international journal, “Journal of Parasitology,” showed that a new type of digenous parasite was discovered that lived in fishes of the Mhgilidae family in the Arabian Gulf and causes reduction in fisheris. This research is considered one of the important scientific researches in the world for developing new taxonomic solutions.
