A lecturer from the College of Education for Girls presents an educational workshop on the problem of the concept of gender from a psychological and legal perspective in Iraq.
Dr. Hana Abdel Nabi Al-Abadi, a lecturer in the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the College of Education for Girls, along with a number of professors, presented an educational workshop on the problem of the concept of gender from a psychological and legal perspective in Iraq, which was included in the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basra.
The workshop shed light on the meanings and connotations of the term, the history of its origins, the trends that contributed to its birth in modern Western societies, and its physical and psychological effects on societies.
The workshop also addressed the role played by the feminist movement globally and locally in consolidating the idea of gender, and its impact on local cultures and the Arab world.
In conclusion, the workshop recommended the necessity of combating such manifestations by establishing legal provisions to limit its spread in our society, as well as spreading awareness and education by holding educational seminars and workshops, and adhering to what our religion has stated in the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of our faithful Messenger.
