
The Dentistry College at Basra University held its conference entitled (The First Science and Innovation in Dentistry), where the teaching professor, Sondos Abdel-Wadud, presented her research to the graduation students last year, which was published in an international magazine and is entitled “Patient Satisfaction with Treatment,” submitted by the students for the period from July 2022 to April 2023.
The lecturer explained in his research that the results of the research were as follows: 80% of the patients expressed their satisfaction with the treatment provided to them by the students, but 30-40% of the patients emphasized the long waiting period in the waiting room before treatment and the treatment period, and this needs that the college must to stand on its causes and tries to reduce them as much as possible.
The lecturer also indicated that the results of the research emphasized the urgent need to develop students’ skills in diagnosis and communication with patients, build mutual trust between them and their patients, and develop the waiting room by providing comfort requirements for the patient, as they spend time in it before entering clinics for treatment, in addition to interest in holding awareness courses and lectures, to educate citizens about the importance of oral and dental health care.
