Assistant Professor Dr. Hisham Kazem Hashem, a teaching assistant at the College of Engineering, University of Basra, Department of Petroleum Engineering, and with the participation of an international research team consisting of a researcher from the Malaysian UPM University and a researcher from King Saud University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, published a scientific research in the Journal of OPTOELECTRONICS AND ADVANCED MATERIALS. It is one of the magazines classified within the Scopus index and specialized in the field of optical communications engineering
The research included designing and analyzing the performance of an optical communications system using optical communications fibers made of polymer instead of regular optical fibers.
The results of the performance analysis showed superior operating characteristics compared to the performance of conventional optical fibers.
