On the occasion of International Women’s Day, corresponding to the eighth of March, the Dean of the College of Education for the Humanities, Professor Dr. Nidaa Muhammad Baqir Al-Yasiri, was honored with the Shield of Creativity and Excellence from the Women’s Affairs Division. The honor was presented by the Scientific Assistant of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Ali Rushek, and the Lady Director of the Division. The Lady Dean said that in the year 1975 When the United Nations began celebrating it annually, March 8 became a day to celebrate the level of women’s advancement in society and their assumption of educational, scientific, political and economic positions, while the basic roots of this celebration go back to the protests and strikes carried out by women due to inequality with men. . She said that if the name of the unit had been empowering women, she would not have attended the honoring because she had rejected this name since it was given... because God is the one who empowered men and women with reason, and there is no one who can empower creatures other than God. But when it became a division specializing in women’s affairs, I came today to honor, and my goal is to share women’s joy on this international day. The Dean of the College thanked those in charge of the festival and pledged to continue giving and struggling, and she will live up to the trust bestowed on her, whether by choosing her to be Dean of the College or by granting her today the shield of creativity and excellence
