The College of Nursing received this morning, Wednesday, 3/6/2024, an official delegation from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in the Islamic Republic of Iran. They were received by Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Muhammad Al-Nawab, Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Basra, in the presence of Professor Dr. Abdul Amir Abdullah Al-Moussawi, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs. The assistant professor, Dr. Sondos Baqir Dawoud, assistant dean for scientific affairs, the teacher, Dr. Firas Abdel Qader, head of the Community Health Branch, the teacher, Louay Shihab Abdel Wahed, head of the Basic Medical Sciences Branch, and a number of college teachers. The visiting delegation consisted of Dr. Ali Taheri and Dr. Mehdi Basalar from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. In the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the visit, they visited the classrooms and scientific laboratories and met with preliminary studies students and technicians who visited the simulation laboratories of the Fundamentals of Nursing branch.
The aim of the visit is to exchange experiences between the University of Basra and Shiraz University of Medical Sciences
Supervising scientific research, professors supervising students’ research, and benefiting from the curricula of both countries. The visit included an initial agreement on joint cooperation between the two sides by signing a memorandum of understanding until official approvals were obtained by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It is noteworthy that the visiting delegation previously met with some of the professors of the College of Nursing at the University of Basra, and the cooperation mechanism between the two universities was discussed in a way that contributes to raising the scientific and technical level of students in both neighboring countries.
