A group of students and teachers from the Dentistry College at Basra University, held a celebration of International Women’s Day, which falls on the eighth of March every year, as a contribution from the Dentistry College to enhancing the role of women in society and assuming their true role.
A group of students and teachers from the College organized a campaign to distribute gifts, flowers and phrases to the college’s employees, professors and students. The assistant teacher, Hoda Jassim Jabr, said: “Today we celebrate International Women’s Day, which is dear to our hearts and generous to our souls. We celebrate the mother, the wife, the sister, and the daughter.”
She also explained that the global celebration is held to demonstrate respect for women and appreciation for their role in society at various political, economic, social and cultural levels.
