The lecturer at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra, Dr. Ali Khayoun, participated in the workshop held by the Youth and Sports Directorate in Maysan Governorate, entitled Causes of lower back pain for supervisors of sports activities.
The workshop shed light on spinal injuries, especially the most common injury, which is a herniated disc, explaining the causes of the injury, methods of prevention and treatment, and the role of rehabilitation programs and physical therapy in returning the injured person to his daily and sporting activities.
The workshop explained the causes of lower back pain, what are the physiological and mechanical factors that lead to lower back pain, and the role of physical therapy and devices in treating these injuries in an accurate scientific manner, which contributes to returning the injured person to his sports activity.
