A lecturer in the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Tariq Juma Ali, was chosen as the head of the committee to discuss his master’s thesis entitled (In SAR Techniques) ((Neotectonics of Al- Basrah Governorate, Southern Iraq)) in the College of Science at the University of Basra.
The message aims to ascertain the spatial distribution and extent of deformation within Basra Governorate, the relationship between these deformations and the things that caused them, and the extent of the influence of tectonic factors.
The master’s thesis included modern tectonics and its varying long-term effects on Basra Governorate with all its districts and oil and gas fields, diagnosing it and determining its causes for the purpose of avoiding any potential risks in the future, especially in tectonically active areas through the use of remote sensing methods, specifically satellites that use microwaves
