Important statement
We saw with great dismay pictures of female figures belonging to the university performing their work, teaching or studying, and they were used in an inappropriate manner on social media platforms for the purposes of defamation and slander by some weak-minded people.
We strongly affirm our categorical rejection of this imitation and falsification of using images for these despicable purposes. This act is considered a blatant violation of personal and professional rights. We will resort to the competent authorities to take appropriate legal measures against any person or entity that defames or uses images illegally. We also demand that the image be removed immediately from the platforms on which it is used. Posted on it.
We call on all concerned parties to cooperate with us and refrain from misusing images illegally, and we affirm the university’s right to protect the reputation and privacy of all its members and students.
We call on the security and legal authorities that have initiated the necessary measures to limit this type of abuse that targets university staff in a barbaric and indiscriminate manner.
We note that the University of Basra strongly repels and defends its staff and students in order to thwart any attempt to undermine their reputation. The university is committed to providing a safe and fair academic environment for all, while ensuring the quality of education and scientific research. We work seriously to ensure the protection of everyone’s rights and to ensure that such incidents will not be repeated in the future.
