Under the patronage of Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Muhammad Al-Nawab, Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Basra, the College’s Continuing Education Unit organized a scientific symposium on the quality, design, and safety of work in scientific and medical laboratories, in which the lecturer, Dr. Abdul Muttalib Abdullah Muhammad, and the assistant teacher, Tadamon Sabah, lectured in the hall of the late Dr. Abdul Hussein Muhammad. Fajr at the Deanship of the College of Nursing. The symposium included presenting and discussing the Iraqi standards for the quality of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s laboratories, based on the requirements of the International Standard Specifications (ISO), with regard to the classification of types of laboratories according to their activities, field of specialization, general, organizational and technical requirements, as well as the quality of biological and chemical safety within the laboratory. . The symposium was attended by a number of professors, teaching assistants, and students of the College of Nursing
