Sponsored by Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Muhammad Al-Nawab, Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Basra, and in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit
Our college organized a scientific lecture on self-medication and the validity of medications, in which Professor Dr. Samira Mohamed Ibrahim and Dr. Atoor Talib lectured. The workshop was attended by a number of professors, employees and students of the college.
The workshop included two topics, the first topic, in which Dr. Attar Taleb lectured, about self-medication, the reasons for its use, and the potential risks of self-medication.
The potential benefits of self-medication are more temporary than the risks of self-medication. It also includes practicing spiritual exercise to help with treatment, such as changing the eating pattern to beneficial foods, using medicinal herbs, improving fitness by exercising, getting rid of negative feelings, and having positive feelings.
The second topic, in which Dr. Samira Mohamed Ibrahim lectured, dealt with pharmaceutical powers, considering that pharmaceutical culture is one of the important public issues in our society that raises the health level of the citizen, which includes preventing side effects of medications or their complications resulting from misuse of medication doses during the treatment period or excessive use. Without consulting a doctor.
The workshop aims to spread the culture of integrative medicine, which works to exploit the mind as a self-pharmacy to treat psychological and physical diseases
