The Council of the Faculty of Medicine of Al-Zahraa at the University of Basra held its regular session under the chairmanship of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Mazen Hawaz Abdul-Rida, and in the presence of the Assistant Dean, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Jawad Ramadan, the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Haitham Ali, the Rapporteur of the Council Secretariat, the Director of the Quality Assurance Department, and all members. Part of the session was also attended by the official of the Scientific Promotions Unit, who presented the academic promotion procedures for some teachers.
The session was opened by welcoming the honorable attendees, and the Al Zahra College of Medicine Council remembered the late sister Dr. Miami Kazem Yousef, member of the College Council and head of the Children’s Branch, and expressed gratitude to the late Dr. The members of the College Council stopped to read Surat Al-Fatihah for her pure soul.
The Council also discussed reducing wages for students, preparing for the final exams for the first round, the mechanism for setting questions, and preparing exam halls.
The Honorable Dean also thanked the attendees and praised the efforts of the heads of the clinical branches in setting the comprehensive exam questions. He also highlighted the distinguished efforts of the members of the Accreditation Committee to complete writing the self-evaluation report that will qualify the college to obtain national and international accreditation. He also urged everyone to continue implementing their tasks in a manner that It is consistent with the college’s vision to support all its administrative, scientific, research and study aspects and develop them in the service of our university and our students to be a prosperous scientific edifice.
