About anal fistula: causes, symptoms and signs, in which Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Ziara Khalaf, a member of the faculty of the college, lectured. The lecture was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Sondos Baqir Daoud, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, the heads of scientific branches, and a number of faculty members and students of the college.
The lecture discussed the most important conservative, surgical and endoscopic treatment methods.
The lecture also touched on the results of fistula treatment using a laparoscope. The lecture also included a review of the signs of anal fistula: recurrent anal abscess, feeling pain and swelling around the anus, feeling pain when defecating, bleeding blood, discharge of pus mixed with blood with a foul smell from an opening located around the anus, and the pain may ease. After draining the fistula, the skin around the anus also becomes irritated due to continuous drainage
