Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basra, Prof. Dr. Muhannad Jawad Al-Asadi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Girls, Prof. Dr. Respected Amal Muhammad Abdul Karim. As part of the activities of the College of Education for Girls on the occasion of the founding of the University of Basra, the Geography Department holds a poetry festival.
