The College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Basrah discussed a master’s thesis on (preparation and biological study of some thiazolidine amide compounds derived from phenylhydrazine). The thesis presented by the researcher (Ramla Faeq Ibrahim) included the preparation and diagnosis of new thiazolidinediamine 4-carboximide amide compounds, in three main steps. The first: compounds (R9-R1) from the reaction of L-cystein with different aromatic aldehydes. Then react the compound (R9-R1) with Acetic Anhydride to prepare the compounds (RA1-RA9) and react the compounds (RA1-RA9) with the aromatic amine (phenylhydrazine) to obtain different compounds (ML1-ML9) amides-4-thiazolidine.

Thiazolidine amide compounds were prepared and were purified and characterized using organic diagnostic techniques with high yields, as they were characterized by the presence of stereoisomers that are difficult to separate because they contain a chiral atom. Imide thiazolidine compounds were prepared using duplication reagents (DCC and HOBT). The results showed that the prepared amide thiazolidine compounds possess biological activity against breast cancer cells of the type (MCF7) and cervical cells (Hela).
