Dentistry College at Basra University, in cooperation with the Government Program Unit, held an educational lecture on the necessity of early detection of breast cancer.
The lecture, which was lectured by Dr. Zainab Kamel Dhahi, a precise specialist in early detection and investigation of breast cancer at Al-Sadr Teaching Hospital, included the most important methods used for early detection of this disease and the steps that must be followed for early examination and detection of the disease, i.e. self-examination, which the woman performs for herself. Then the examination is carried out by a specialist doctor in clinics and hospitals spread throughout Iraq.
The lecture aims at the need to conduct self-examinations every month, conduct a clinical examination every year, visit early detection centers for the disease, and conduct examinations with the MamoKrav device every year for women over the age of forty. The lecture recommended spreading awareness and introducing the disease and the stages of early detection tests. At the global level, the World Health Organization has encouraged the idea and its application in countries, as a result of the significant increase in the number of infections in recent times and the role played by breast cancer awareness.
