The Department of Geography at the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basra organized a seminar on the hydrological implications of the main morphometric parameters of the Wadi Kadira Adhabi Basin in Basra using geographic information systems (GIS).
The seminar aims to identify the morphometric factors that dominate the hydrological characteristics in the Wadi Kaderah Al-Adhabi basin, and to study all the morphometric parameters related to the river basin and the water canal network and to demonstrate the correlation between all the morphometric parameters and the hydrological characteristics.
The seminar, presented by studies student Masarra Ghaleb Majeed, showed that the use of geographic information systems in studying water basins is one of the most important applied methods in studying morphometric characteristics and determining the relationship between the shape of the basin, its subterranean stage, and the land features that develop from it as a result of the contrast between the processes of erosion and sedimentation, and the relationship between morphometric coefficients. The river basins, the water canal network, and the hydrological characteristics in the Wadi Kaderah Adhabi basin, the nature of that relationship, and its most prominent characteristics
