The Law College at the University of Basra organized a seminar titled "The Individual's Right to a Clean Environment"

The seminar, which was attended by Dr. Zainab Yassin Abdul Khader, a faculty member at the College of Administration and Economics, discussed the right to the environment, which is relatively modern and belongs to the third generation of human rights. It is the latest addition to the human rights system.

The seminar aimed to introduce this right, clarify its importance to individuals, its relationship with other human rights, its impact on them, and highlight the importance of integrating it into the framework of sustainable development. At the end of the seminar, we reached a set of conclusions and recommendations, including the demand for a binding international document dedicated to the right to the environment and the establishment of a specialized international court to adjudicate international environmental violations.
