The member of the Microbiology Department at Basrah University / College of Medicine, Assistant Prof. Dr. Firas Taha Mansour, participated in the holding of a scientific symposium at Al-Muthanna University on the Latest Developments in the Corona Pandemic. The symposium included detailed information on the genetics, prevalence and epidemiology of the virus SARS-CoV-2 and the possibility of repeated mutations in the virus's DNA, which may lead to the continuation of the pandemic. It was also discussed in details the other respiratory viruses such as influenza, which are usually active in the Autumn and winter seasons, and may cause a double risk in the presence of Corona virus. All the attendees, including Faculty members, employees, and postgraduate students, showed their interaction with the valuable scientific information. Many questions that were asked by the attendees were answered and discussed. This activity is to enhance the scientific cooperation between Basrah University and the rest of Iraqi Universities.
