The College of Law at the University of Basra organized a lecture on the role of the legislative authority in response to the central government's delay in preparing the state's general budget.
Dr. Mohammed Jabbar Kareedi, a lecturer at the College of Law, explained the concept of parliamentary oversight, its nature, as well as the concept of the budget and its expenditure items. He also discussed the constitutional means provided for monitoring the central government.
