Department of History organized a scientific trip to the Sabian sect location on Monday 31/ 12 / 2018. The visiting delegation, headed by Dr. Raghad Faisal, Dr. Araa' Jasim, Dr. Mu'ayyad Ibrahim, and Dr. Ensam Ghadhban with a galaxy of fourth year students. This visit was to strengthen the national unity and intimacy and love bonds in the Iraqi society in general and in the Basri one in particular. Our staff and students met Sheikh Sattar Al-Kuhaili, head of Sabean there, with a number of the Sabian. The Sheikh provided an adequate account on the conditions and the beliefs of Sabeans. He focused on the problems faced and their relationships with the other sects in the Basri society. From their part, our staff and students asked some questions about their belief and social Mandaean aspects and about their relationships with the Basri people.
Our students expressed their happiness for this great visit and they considered it as a significant visit,
