From the Department of Marine Chemistry...an introduction to the science of pesticides, their different types, and the importance of their use in agriculture and control. Pests. The course included methods for collecting and preparing samples, explaining the techniques of several methods for extracting water, soil, and living organisms, techniques for quantitative and qualitative chemical analysis of pesticides using gas chromatography (GC) and liquid chromatography (HPLC), as well as UV, ViS, and FTIR class analysis techniques.
