Al-Rasheed Radio met with the lecturer at the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basra, Dr. Abdul Karim Al-Mawzani, in a program about drugs, their effects on society, and ways to prevent them.
Al-Mawzani stated in the meeting that the reasons for the spread of drugs are the ease of obtaining them from pharmacies or suspicious outlets and lack of community control. This matter necessitated the responsible authorities to confront this phenomenon due to its great danger to society and its devastating effects on the health and cohesion of society, as well as the spread of crime due to its impact on the behavior of users.
Al-Muzani added that the University of Basra, represented by the College of Education for Human Sciences, has placed at the forefront of its efforts and its relationship with society to contribute to treating and reducing the risks of this dangerous scourge through seminars, conferences, and direct meetings with drug abusers in government clinics.
