A book entitled "Water Pollutants" was published by a lecturer at the College of Marine Sciences at the University of Basra, Dr. Imad Jassim Al-Shawi, in collaboration with Dr. Bassem Yousef Al-Khafaji at the College of Science at the University of Thi Qar. The book, which included topics distributed over nine chapters, shed light on the definition of water pollution and types of environmental pollution in terms of source, as well as types of pollutants in terms of source, method and nature of their appearance, chemical composition, degree of decomposition and toxicity.
