The Dean of the College of Science, Dr. Osama Qasim Khalifa, visited the Southern Region Environment Directorate, accompanied by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Nouris Abdulghani, and the Director of the Quality Division, Dr. Imad Jassim Al-Shawi. They were received by the Director General of the Southern Region Environment, Dr. Mohsen Azizi Al-Khafaji. The meeting discussed ways of cooperation between the two parties in all fields, especially the marine aspect, through joint cooperation in conducting scientific research and the Director of the Southern Region Environment supporting the college in the field of summer training for students, as well as providing them with job opportunities in return. The Dean offered his full support by presenting the experiences of professors and researchers in the College of Marine Sciences in training the staff of the Southern Region Environment Directorate and Basra Environment in all marine specialties and developing their scientific capabilities, as well as the possibility of conducting joint research and joint supervision and providing them with all the marine information and research they need, as the Southern Region Environment is Iraq's representative in the Regional Organization for the Protection of the Marine Environment ROPME
