Within the framework of the scientific plan projects of the Marine Biology Department at the Marine Science Center, and the projects of graduate students at the center, a joint scientific team from the Marine Science Center and the Naval Forces Command, made a scientific trip to the coral reef site in Iraqi territorial waters. The trip aims to conduct an environmental assessment, study biodiversity, and record some environmental factors of the region. The trip included collecting various samples of coral and benthic invertebrates of the region.
