Dr. Ali Nasser Abdullah, a lecturer at the College of Education for Girls, participated in discussing a doctoral thesis entitled "The spatial and temporal relationship of ozone gas change and pressure systems change over Iraq" by researcher Hakim Ghazi Shenyar Yousef" at the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basra as a member of the committee.
The thesis included a study of pressure systems (highs and lows) in terms of their centers of origin, their point of entry into Iraq, and the number of days they remain at a level of 1000 millibars, in addition to their climatic effects. They were linked to ozone gas concentrations measured by Dobson.
The study concluded that there is a correlation between ozone gas concentration and pressure systems if the northern regions recorded the highest concentration of ozone, especially during the cold months, while the concentration of ozone decreases as we move south.
