The Dean of the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basra, Prof. Dr. Nidaa Mohammed Baqer, opened scientific laboratories and classrooms as part of her efforts to develop the college's infrastructure. The Dean of the College said, "The opening of the laboratories after equipping them with modern devices comes within the project to develop the college's infrastructure and is one of our top priorities to develop an appropriate educational environment to link the theoretical side with the practical side and develop and refine skills to improve university outcomes and employ all the college's resources in serving students and in a way that serves the advancement of their minds. Dr. Nidaa explained, "The college has equipped the computer lab with more than 50 new computers and equipped it with all the required supplies such as modern chairs, lighting and air conditioning devices, in addition to rehabilitating the Arabic Language Department hall for meetings and the Geography lab, and is about to open three new halls soon." The opening of the laboratories and halls was attended by the Dean's assistants for scientific and administrative affairs and heads of scientific departments
