Her Excellency, Representative Zahra Al-Bajari, Head of the Parliamentary Transport and Communications Committee, received the Dean of the College of Marine Sciences, Assistant Professor Dr. Osama Qasim Khalifa, and Professor Dr. Nouris Abdul-Ghani Al-Faiz, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies. The two sides discussed the country's marine and coastal reality and the most important challenges facing this field.
The two parties also exchanged talk about the reality and challenges of the College of Marine Sciences
and the most important problems facing this young and unique college in Iraq and ways to improve its reality and advance it and provide job opportunities for graduates in the private sector and include them in appointments in the government sector.
As well as providing support and assistance to the College of Marine Sciences to be among the similar colleges in the region and the world.
During the visit, many issues and challenges were discussed that serve the interests of this unique specialization in the country, including the law of the Iraqi Supreme Maritime Authority, as well as the reality of ports, maritime transport and oil ports, as well as the challenges of marine pollution, erosion of Iraqi coasts and sedimentation operations. At the end of the meeting, Her Excellency the Representative praised all the issues raised in the meeting and promised to provide support and assistance to serve the country.
