The College of Marine Sciences at the University of Basra organizes a scientific trip to the Basra Sewerage Directorate/Hamdan Treatment Plant, in order to complete the requirements of the practical part of the Environmental Pollution Course and the Waste Recycling Course, accompanied by second and third level students, in order to learn about the primary treatment unit for heavy water in Basra and to explain the stages of filtration and sedimentation of heavy water and reduce its pollutant content according to the possibility of the station’s operation before it is discharged into water bodies and to benefit from the humic material obtained after completing all stages of filtration.
