The College of Marine Sciences at the University of Basra and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, represented by a central committee that included teaching experts from Al-Mustansiriya University, the University of Kufa, and several ministerial departments such as the Legal, Research and Development, Auditing and Control Departments, and a representative from the Arabian Gulf Academy for Maritime Studies, discussed the possibility of graduates of the Maritime Academy joining the postgraduate studies organized by the college.
The Assistant Dean of the College for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Nouris Abdul Ghani Al-Faiz, said, "During the meeting, we discussed the nature of study in both the College of Marine Sciences and the Maritime Academy, the extent of compatibility or conformity of the curricula, and the number of units required to be passed by graduates of both colleges. We have prepared joint recommendations that will soon, God willing, serve both parties."
