A master's thesis in the Department of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance at the College of Education for Humanities, University of Basra, examined (Narcissistic Personality and its Relationship to Relational Aggression among University Students) by the student (Fatima Kazim Awad)
The study presented by the student Fatima Kazim Awad aimed to identify the narcissistic personality and relational aggression among the research sample members, and to identify the correlation between the narcissistic personality and relational aggression among the research sample members, and the statistically significant differences in the correlation between the narcissistic personality and relational aggression among the research sample members according to the variables of gender (males_females) and academic specialization (scientific_humanities), and the extent of the contribution of the narcissistic personality to relational aggression among the research sample members. The study concluded that the research sample members have a narcissistic personality, and that the research sample members have relational aggression at a low rate. There is a correlation between narcissistic personality and relational aggression. There are no statistically significant differences in the correlation between narcissistic personality and relational aggression among university students according to the variable of gender (male-female) and specialization (scientific-human). The independent variable (narcissistic personality) contributes to the dependent variable (relational aggression).
The thesis included a study of the variables (narcissistic personality and relational aggression among university students). A narcissistic personality scale was constructed and a relational aggression scale was adopted.
In light of the results, the researcher recommended a number of recommendations, the most prominent of which are: - Guidance units in colleges should work on developing awareness programs aimed at encouraging parents to avoid promoting narcissistic behaviors in their children, by using social educational methods that enhance the formation of healthy and non-narcissistic personalities and help them create healthy, emotionally and emotionally mature personalities and enable them to deal positively and properly with others. A number of proposals were also made, the most prominent of which were: - Conducting studies on relational aggression and its relationship to other variables (social upbringing, feelings of loneliness, domestic violence, parental treatment, bullying)
