The seminar aims to shed light on the concept of domestic violence, its types, manifestations, causes, the most affected groups, identifying the motives that lead to domestic violence and identifying its effects (physical, behavioral, psychological, social), as well as shedding light on ways to prevent and treat domestic violence.
Colonel Shaaban Thamer Hamza from the Directorate of Tribal Affairs in Basrah, pointed out that the concept of violence is a behavior directed at intentionally harming others, or causing harm to others.
Violence against women and the family is a clear and explicit violation of human rights, as it prevents them from enjoying their full rights, and has serious consequences that are not limited to women only, but affect the entire society.
