
The College of Dentistry at the University of Basra organized a lecture on cyber terrorism and its dangers, which is the use of digital technologies to intimidate and subjugate others or to attack information systems for political, ethnic or religious reasons.
The lecture aims to clarify the meaning of cyber terrorism and ways to confront it. Combating and confronting cyber terrorism is an important matter in our time, and this is done by improving and enhancing security awareness and information security, and preventive measures to protect networks by training employees and educating the general public for users.
The lecture, in which Dr. Saeed Kazim Ahmed lectured, included an explanation of the concept of terrorism in general and cyber terrorism in particular, its beginnings, linguistic roots, how it occurs and its most important characteristics.
The lecture also touched on the real threats posed by this type of terrorism, which represent facts and events that we face on a daily basis, and ways to confront it, whether through legal legislation or controlling and monitoring electronic sites.
