A master's thesis at the College of Education for Girls in Basra examined "Literary criticism skills and their relationship to thinking among students of Arabic language departments" The thesis submitted by the student Batoul Jaafar Kazim advanced to identify literary criticism skills and their relationship to analytical thinking with the request of Arabic language departments.
As a result, the thesis consisted of four chapters. The first chapter included the research problem, its importance, research objectives, research limits, and defining its terms. The second chapter is represented by the theoretical approach and improving the skills of literary evaluation and analytical thinking, its policies, and previous studies.
As for the third chapter, which is the one that must be researched and its procedures, it may include the research methodology as well as the research community and its sample, research tools, and statistical means. The fourth chapter includes presenting the results and interpreting them for productions, recommendations, and proposals.
The thesis reduced the students' weakness in possessing literary criticism skills, and this is gradually due to training students to apply what they have studied in the criticism process in situations that they influence.
The message recommended diversity in the development of the guide with the most important skills available to students, which can help them criticize literary texts according to sound scientific foundations.
