Under the auspices of the president of the University of Basra, Prof. Dr. Mohannad Jawad al-Asadi, and under the supervision of the dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdul Zahra Mohammed, the Department of Performing Arts at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Basra, organized a voluntary afforestation campaign in the College Gardens, which included planting various types of trees, plants and roses. This initiative comes with the aim of enhancing efforts to increase green spaces in the vicinity of the College, in addition to enhancing the culture of volunteer work and motivating students and academic staff members to participate in Environmental Protection and increasing vegetation cover.
The campaign aims to support the efforts of the Ministry of higher education and scientific research to achieve sustainable development and environmental conservation, within the framework of the "Million Trees" project launched by the ministry to contribute to the creation of a sustainable and healthy environment. The dean, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdul Zahra Mohammed, praised this initiative, which reflects the spirit of cooperation and environmental responsibility among the students of the college, stressing the college's support for such events that contribute to enhancing environmental awareness and preserving the local environment.
