The College of Dentistry at the University of Basra held the Holy Quran memorization and recitation competition in cooperation with the Imam Al-Kadhim (peace be upon him) College of Islamic Sciences for the departments of Basra to promote Islamic values and spread the culture of memorizing the Holy Quran among students.
The competition aims to instill the love of the Holy Quran, sanctify and glorify it and the love of the Messenger, may God bless him and his family, in the souls of students, and to encourage the memorization of the Book of God Almighty and the practical application of the rules of intonation while reciting the Holy Quran.
The competition included the contestants reading verses of their choice and verses chosen by the committee, where the contestants revealed their sweet voices in the remembrance of God Almighty, and a number of students competed in the competition to show their creativity and mastery in memorizing and reciting the verses of the Holy Quran.
It is worth noting that the College of Dentistry holds many Quranic competitions, whether in memorization or recitation and other Quranic activities aimed at spreading the culture of the Holy Book.
At the end of the competition, the winners were honored with valuable prizes, in appreciation of their efforts in memorizing and reciting the Book of God Almighty. The winners expressed their happiness with this honor, stressing the importance of memorizing and reciting the Holy Quran, wishing the winners continued success.
