Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazim, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Basra, Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Muhammad Al-Nawab The Continuing Education Unit at the College, with the participation of the Community Health Branch, organized a scientific symposium on cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid for faculty members, students, and nursing staff in private hospitals In which Dr. Sayed Abdul-Ridha Mahmoudi from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences and a trainer in the American Heart Association, and Lecturer Dr. Firas Abdul-Qader Jassim, Head of the Community Health Branch and Family Medicine Specialist, lectured. The symposium dealt with defining emergency cases and how to deal with them, defining and the importance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, the causes of cardiac arrest, and the difference in the method of performing resuscitation for adult patients, children, and pregnant women. For his part, the representatives stressed the college's keenness to organize many conferences, seminars and awareness lectures throughout the year, in order to activate the college's role in reducing the problems of society and contributing to solving them. He also appreciated the efforts made by all teaching staff, praising their attempts to provide the best services in light of the available capabilities, wishing them more giving and progress in the service of our dear university.
