A symposium entitled “Honoring Parents in Building the Family and Social Education” was held at the General Secretariat of the Central Library in cooperation with the College of Arts. The symposium aimed to highlight the importance of parents’ rights and their impact on building the family and preserving the societal entity from the harms of social diseases that are devastating society. This can only be achieved by referring to the intellectual legacy of the Imams of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and reviewing their recommendations. The symposium, delivered by Dr. Intisar Adnan Al-Awad from the College of Arts, included the most important topics that fall under the thought of Ahl al-Bayt and their role in clarifying the rights of parents by interpreting the verses that urge honoring parents, arousing religious motivation, determining the legal ruling and rights of parents, and the effectiveness of these topics in motivating society to fulfill the right of honoring parents.
