Under the direct supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Muhammad Al-Nawab, Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Basra, the Continuing Education Unit at the college organized a workshop on methods of controlling infection and contamination in hospitals, which was lectured by Assistant Lecturer Sakina Hafez Ahmed, a faculty member at the college. The aim of the workshop was to understand the problem of hospital-acquired infections and how to prevent them. The workshop included understanding the basic concepts of cleaning, disinfection and sterilization, as well as describing hand hygiene procedures. It also talked about procedures for improving infection control in hospitals.
