



University of Basrah Organizes a Scientific Symposium on the Speicher Massacre and Terrorism: Implications and Prospects for Countering Extremist Ideology
On Tuesday, November 12, 2024, the College of Administration and Economics – Qurna at the University of Basrah organized a scientific symposium titled “The Speicher Massacre and Terrorism: Implications and Prospects for Countering Extremist Ideology.” The symposium was chaired by Professor Dr. Youssef Odeh Ghanem and legal expert Talib Razzaq Saad. It addressed several key topics related to the phenomenon of terrorism and strategies to combat extremist ideologies.
The symposium aimed to shed light on the social and psychological dimensions left by the Speicher Massacre, as well as discuss effective strategies to counter extremist ideologies and limit their spread in society. It also highlighted the role of educational institutions in raising youth awareness and combating extremism by promoting a culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
