Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Nursing, Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Muhammad Al-Nawab The Continuing Education Unit at the College organized a workshop on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, which was lectured by Assistant Professor Dr. Sundus Baqer Dawood, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs The workshop dealt with defining Polycystic Ovary Syndrome as a common hormonal disorder among women of childbearing age. The workshop also addressed women who suffer from Polycystic Ovary Syndrome from intermittent or prolonged menstrual periods or increased levels of the male hormoneDr. Sundus Baqer Dawood explained that the explanation for this health condition is that it is fluid-filled cysts that accumulate on one or both ovaries, which leads to failure to release eggs regularly, stressing the side effects of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and what are the most important causes of this disease and the importance of the type of food that helps in alleviating the complications of the problem. The workshop aimed to introduce polycystic ovary syndrome and the truth about its formation, the causes of the disease, the types of cysts that occur in women, the symptoms and complications of the disease, and methods of prevention and treatment.
