University of Basra organizes a scientific symposium on the illusion of excellence among graduate students
The Department of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance at the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basra organized a scientific symposium on the illusion of excellence among graduate students as part of the ministerial program to develop the skills of graduate students.
The symposium aimed to develop the skills of graduate students and provide them with the skills to prevent illusory excellence and exaggerate self-evaluation and adopt positive rational thinking in harmony with research capabilities and potentials and their ambitions.
The symposium, presented by Dr. Ikthar Khalil Ibrahim, included a statement of the reason for individuals' tendency to exaggerate their skills, which makes them more than they actually are, and the individual's belief that he is happier and more skilled than others.
The symposium showed that preventing illusory excellence requires accepting weaknesses and working to increase knowledge, and allowing others to do things in their own way regardless of whether you think it is the right way or not.
The symposium called on students to move from weaknesses to strengths, to be intellectually humble, to constantly feel the need for others, and to focus on objective evaluation of capabilities and achievements.
