As part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's efforts to develop the entrepreneurial sector and support scientific innovation in Iraq, Dr. Einas Abdulaziz Al-Nasir, a faculty member at the Polymer Research Center at the University of Basrah, participated in a ministerial delegation visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran. The visit coincided with the Global Entrepreneurship Week, reflecting Iraq's commitment to supporting this vital sector both locally and internationally.
The visit included meetings with Ferdowsi University and its technological incubators, as well as Khorasan Science and Technology Park, where models for supporting startups and linking them to the labor market were reviewed. The delegation also visited the International Science and Technology Park in Tehran, recognized as one of the leading institutions supporting innovation.
The tour further included visits to Imam Hussein University, the Imam Soleimani Research and Development Company, and Sharif University of Technology to discuss strategies for transforming scientific research into practical projects that contribute to economic development.
The discussions and meetings during the visit focused on mechanisms for financing and managing technological incubators and emphasized the importance of creating programs that foster innovation and entrepreneurship. These efforts aim to open new opportunities to enhance the role of Iraqi universities in achieving sustainable development, which is a cornerstone for knowledge-based growth.
