
The College of Dentistry at the University of Basra organized an educational seminar on the role of the university in raising awareness of social, cultural and legal human rights, with the attendance of a number of faculty members, employees and students of the college.
The seminar aims to clarify human rights in Iraqi society and the role of the university in raising awareness of social and cultural human rights, while highlighting the laws and penalties that result in the event of human rights violations between individuals.
The seminar, which was lectured by Professor Dr. Abdul Karim Zayer Al-Muzani, included a discussion of three axes. The first axis dealt with human rights from the perspective of Islamic law, as Islam emphasized the principle of human rights in life and respect for this principle by society.
In the second axis, Lieutenant Colonel Muntadher Kazim Nima addressed human rights in university life and highlighted the role of this principle in the interaction between the students themselves and their professors on campus.
In the third axis, Lawyer Adnan Al-Alaq focused on highlighting the importance of human rights from the educational aspect for all students, respecting the rights of others, respecting dealing with others in a way that serves society and prohibits encroachment on the sanctity of the university campus and paying attention to the duties that fall on the shoulders of students.
