The College of Engineering at the University of Basra held a teaching eligibility test for applicants for new appointments to engineering colleges in public and private universities in various engineering specializations, including architectural, civil, electrical and computer engineering. Each of them gave a specialized lecture to demonstrate his scientific ability and ability to deliver the material to students. After that, he was discussed by the head and members of the examination committee on the positive and negative points of the lecture in terms of the scientific level and method of delivery in addition to the characteristics and personality of the university lecturer. The applicant was also tested for his proficiency in the English language. The applicants expressed their interest in the valuable comments raised by the committee to enhance their skills and personality in university teaching.
