Under the patronage of Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Muhammad Al-Nawab, Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Basra, the College of Nursing held an introductory party for first-year students and for morning and evening studies. The party was attended by a number of faculty members, affiliates and students of the college. The party began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem. After that, they stood to recite Surat Al-Fatihah in memory of the souls of the martyrs of Iraq. This was followed by a speech by the Dean of the College, in which he welcomed the new students to this annual carnival, which is considered a sign of the beginning of a student's professional life, which is a rare honor, a great responsibility and exceptional privileges that should not be considered an easy, simple and taken for granted matter. The community's view of the nursing profession is one of respect, reverence and appreciation. He also blessed their kind efforts and the efforts of their honorable families in bringing their children to these advanced and distinguished stages. After that, a number of students recited various poems and some scientific and cultural competitions. At the end of the ceremony, the first-year students thanked the college deanship, represented by the college dean, the college council members, and the faculty members for their great interest in them and for the support, advice, and guidance provided to them, which will be an incentive and motivation for them in their upcoming academic career.
